Less than one minute to roll over and I noticed a silly grammatical error in my title. As I was just about to fix roll over kicked in. I was concerned that the entry would not be accepted as I was in the edit screen. Well, the shot did not disappear but the title didn’t change.

Post challenge:

Well, this did much better than I had thought it would. I guess skewsme is right and I should tell the story behind the image. This was taken from London Tower and the gent with the polished boots is a Beefeater. pelican is correct in that the crow is begging for food and wernerH did come up with a better title. The shot had to be converted to b&w as the Beefeater’s uniform has bright red stripes and the colour of the ladies boots behind were competing with the bird.

While walking around London for the day I was aware of the Footwear challenge and tried to catch some shots that might suit and grabbed this opportunity. I was still some distance from them when I saw what was happening and only had my 18-55mm kit lens mounted. I had to take the shot but was disappointed that I didn’t have my 70-200mm L lens on that was in my bag. As a result I had to do a significant crop to emphasise the boots and bird.

I like it! That crow has "that" perfect expression. :) This is one of those images where the title "makes" the picture. If I had to give this picture a title it'd be. "Dude! Nice shoes!". Hahaha Love it.

Nice candid shot, I like the way the bird seems to focused on the more on the persons upper torso than just the leg, it suggests the bird was begging for scraps of food, rather a bold bird. Nice lighting and focus, works as a B&W too.
