What a catalogue of expressions, this one warranted a longer look.

I voted higher than Ubique, so does that make me an aesthete now? There's some utterly amazing connection between the mum and the pillow that you just can't neglect.

I gave you a 5: sometimes I think you're just ordinary. Of course I am dead wrong a hell of a lot. I can't believe that is IR. How'd she get so big so fast? Or how'd I lose some years again? Cheers.

If it wasn't for the bracelet, it would be hard to know who was the patient. Endearing and realistically sweet scene.

She looked at her daughter holding the new babe and her heart filled with pride and joy. All was quiet for a few moments when the little one awoke suddenly and started to cry.
"Mom," her daughter looked up with her big eyes,"the baby is cute, but...where is the off button?"

First, congrats on the new addition. Now, this is what the moment speaks to me as that the little girl's expression reminds me of how my eldest reacted many years ago when she met her newborn sister. It is almost akin to panic - did I do something wrong? and when the crying doesn't stop it turns to the question "is there an off button?":-) Lighting is on the subjects is really good and you gotta love the expressions:-)

Lovely! I love the expression on Big Sister - concerned, unsure, looking to Mum to gauge her reaction to baby's cry.,

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: This is quite extraordinary. I've come back several times to this image - it's power doesn't diminish. It isn't like any of the images I normally pick up in this challenge series but it's here because of the profound effect it has had on me. For me, this image is a just about as fine a rendition of humanity as you could find. It transcends a photograph and offers a pure connection in a way that flat out startles me. You have to understand, I'm not the sentimental type and I don't feel sentimental about this image but truly moved.

The expressions on each of their faces is so very very communicative and your capture is so straight-up, so honestly depicting; like you're holding a visual door open for us, being very careful to to step aside - the photograph disappears, and we are there with our fellow human beings.

Even the crop of her arm on one side and the edge of the round pillow on the other contributes rather than detracts - because it reinforces the notion that the photograph itself is nothing. That's what you've done here. Shared a perfect moment perfectly, offered a photograph that through the act of viewing dissolves and gives way to life.

Critical stuff: No.

Overall: An image with such quiet power and such profound connection. Just stunning.

I find that face-pillow on the left a bit of a distraction, I'd have rather it was cut out of the shot and instead, a little more visible on the right so the woman wasn't cropped through the arm. Very sweet moment though, mummy looks so happy; the little girl's expression is priceless, it's almost like she's saying, Ok I tried, can we take it back now? Lol. Adorable.
