Rock, paper (printed with picture taken moments earlier), scissors. Should meet the challenge! And yes, a set-up shot. I didn't just happen upon this one.

One of my first "successes" at DPC was in the first Rock Paper Scissors challenge - a 5.3!! I was so delighted! Little did I know that was where many of my scores would land. I'm still delighted with a 5.3, mind you!

It seems this is a bit too blue-tinged, which I'll admit I didn't even notice. Also apparently way too complicated despite my very determined attempt to keep it simple and meet the challenge.

I simply should not, under any circumstances, attempt to set up a shot. And here I thought it was kinda clever.

The beloved 24-105 died after this shoot. It is at the Canon hospital in Irvine where a very large sum of money was left in hopes that the lens can be restored.

So did any of you even notice that the paper had a print of a picture of the scissors on it? Did you notice it was cut, this picture, with the scissors? Is this simply a sucky photograph? Why can I not get the majic number of 6? Everyone writes lots of posts about how easy it is if you just follow the formula.... it really isn't easy at all.

Excellent composition, with a nice "Easter egg" of printed scissors (I wonder how many of fast voters have missed that entirely?). I actually love the flatness of it, gives it a nice abstract feel. The blue tint in the printed part does let it down a little bit, but overall - well done! No comparison to your entry in the first RPS challenge

It took me a minute to see what was happening, a nice surprise, perhaps too much blue tint but still a good image.

This is a VERY original and well thought out composition. I especially like that the shadows are cast by the printed scissors, and not by the real ones. This is NOT a "simple" shot, but well planned and executed.
