This is the El Castillo pyramid located at Chitzen Itza, in the Yucatán peninsula of Mexico. Recently voted [2007] as one of the New Seven Wonders of the world.

I'll be honest, if this actually does well I'm nervous about a validation because I cloned out a few people. I did submit a query and Langdon himself said it was okay, but I would still be worried. I definitely loved this version more than if I were to keep the extra people and with Langdons okay I had to submit it.

I wish I could have submitted it to a free study but it was taken two days before the end of the month..plus I was on my honeymoon. I'm just looking for a new personal best and hoping it doesn't get past over because the best of challenges seem to promote a higher standard of voting.

The people in the frame add so much to this image. Really get a sense of scale with them present. Nicely done.7

I like that you have included someone in the shot to give that building some scale.

Looking at this, I can feel the heat and humidity, even though it's been four years since I've visited there. I love the processing, especially the sky. To me it looks like a *little* rotation clockwise might be in order; the pyramid looks like it leans slightly left. The near corner is vertical, but it still seems to lean left.

Besides the grandeur of this photo, the three people at the base with Red/Yellow/Green shirts is a good focal point.

I like the processing here. You certainly took what I'm sure was a fairly average image and made it really pop!

Wow, not swarming with tourists! Beautiful colors and contrast. Is it leaning a little left?

Ah, someone else was here this last year (another photo in the challenge). I like this color version, too. Nice with the trio there in the corner - provides a good sense of scale!

Great sense of scale seen in this with the inclusion of the people. Unfortunately the processing has had an effect on the clouds which doesn't appeal to my taste. 6

Nice shot, sky is almost over the top, a little more processing on it and it would have been taking too much attention from the pyramid but I think it´s just right, I like this one, gave an 8.

Hmmm, partners in crime :) This is crisp and rich and the 3 party in front help it where the B&W version doesn't need them. Great exp too.
