I had some serious pictures of my friend's daughter and her horse that turned out decent. And still I keep returning to this picture of Biscuit and me out for a drive that I took with my phone earlier today. I worry about the blown highlights and other issues. I worry it may not convey the strong affection she and I share. Still it makes me smile. Hopefully it will make a few voters smile.

I am extremely happy with the score and I am overwhelmed by the comments. I am happy this image connected with lots of voters despite a few technical faults.

Thanks for the comments and favorites. I am thrilled with the 4th place finish and honored to be hanging in the PH gallery.

Can't believe I didn't comment on my top pick of this challenge. I completely disagree with some commenters, how can someone not see and feel the affection in this image?! Besides, I love it when such a strongly emotional photo appears and goes against all the orthodoxy of composition, light and whatnot... and yet conveys what it intended to. I wouldn't have this any other way. Congrats on the well deserved score and PH!

like the surfing idea, shame the dogs eye detail has been lost by the wind, nice trees and sky

Awesome! Great Idea. Love the feel, a bit of motion blur would have added more ..."speed"? Anyway, great shot!

Heh!! I was at an intersection the other day, a car went by with a young man in his twenties with his head out the window in the back seat. He looked happy! Seems we can learn a lot from dogs.

Very nice, photo, great idea. Would've loved it if the dog was facing us, and if the car was cleaner :)

harhar!! nice perspective. I wonder if you tried motion-blurring the sourroundings to emphasize speed?

This is amusing and in good focus but there are quite a few flaws that spoil it for me; the sky is pretty noisy, the compositon is generally Ok but the perspective makes me want to look away down the road, where there is no point of interest. The blown-out patch on the dog's head is very strong too, it obscures the face which is a shame. This is something all dogs love to do which is nice but I don't feel it particularly portrays affection.
