I must confess that i didn't take this for the challenge, i try to take a few good shots of Gap every couple of weeks for keepsake, i realized when i got home that this would be fine. Gap is now four months old and likes nothing better than chasing sticks, he will do a full walk with one in his mouth. Here is the shot before the stick went airborne, thanks for the great comments and score.

This reminds me of a photo I took, except it was me throwing a stick at my boys lol. I always enjoy the tones you pull out of your shots. Great action capture. Congrats on 2nd place!

It would be good even without the dog - just imagine a dog, but it is the posture, the sprung legs, the rippled mass, of the dog that corkscrew into me.

Congratulations. I can really relate to this, having a vizsla who just loves to chase sticks. The photo itself is very pleasing - natural yet with all the elements perfectly displayed.

Doggie looks like my cat, Galena, when she goes chasing after something, back end all over the place. So glad to see this ribboned. Well done!

Well, this dog was easily identifiable, but that's not why I gave you a 10! Great shot, jagar.

Congrats. I rarely give 10's and this got one without hesitation.

Nice shot! Congrats on the 2nd place!! I have 2 dogs, a NSDTR and a Dalmatian. The NSDTR is a natural retriever, the Dalmatian is a retriever convert :) I can relate to this image very well.

As an aside, you might want to watch out for the gravel though for your new pup. They can tear their pads quite easily if they're chasing their sticks too intensely.

This is great. I think it not only embodies the spirit of the challenge, but also the feel. We all love our animals, and this depicts how we show that and really connect with them. Very nice, and a wonderful shot that illustrates how multifaceted you are.

like the little weimaraner, we used to have one "gunther" like his movement and teh clarity of the stick

Bet ya had to throw that stick many times to get it in just the right spot in the frame. Well done. I like the action.

Love how the dog looks leaped up mid air, and the leading lines. I'm sure this will do well. Voted before the comment.

Great photo, love the dog and stick frozen in motion. It might have been interesting to have the person's arm extended out as if they'd just thrown the stick, to serve as a leading line pointing us down the road to the stick in flight. Still, a great photo.

This photo really works for me, my favorite of the group. I like the high contrast, low exposure processing, makes it feel nostalgic. I also like how the stick is thrown into the bokeh, like running into a memory. Well done.

Love everything about this. I like that it doesn't look "posed"; has a very genuine capture of the moment. Like how all the elements are "highlighted"; the dog, the master, and the stick (even though its in silhouette). I like the b&w processing, really focuses the attention on the dog and master. I'm gonna go on a limb and say this has the feel of a jagar, nixter, or bspurgeon quality image.
Just started, but already my favorite.
