This baby slept the whole way to the shoot (1.5 hours), her parents said she was an angel! I was thrilled... she'd sleep a bit for some yummy shots of that... then she'd wake all rested, for some sweet family shots.

She woke as soon as she arrived and started screaming.

She didn't quit almost the entire time they were there. Mom was so disappointed. Daddy hung in there, although he'd only had four hours of sleep the night before.

This shot was literally between screams. LOL!

But, still... I enjoyed it all.

Brought back memories...

Such a sweet family.

just having a bit of a wander in dpc .. like dpc surfing ..
and saw this .. as a thumb ..
unfortunately my internet is so slow atm that it actually took two minutes for this to open .. but the thumb was so appealing .. and i loved your comment .. that i just had to wait it out ..
so happy that i did .. ITS UNFORGETTABLE .. what a wonderful moment you have captured .. just oozing personality .. in a really good way .. !! ..
and when i think about it .. it seems that even tho the baby was screaming and crying and making the shoot seem so difficult .. you came away with this .. !! ..
its like the rose among the thorns .. the photo is the rose and the screams the thorns btw .. !! ..
also loving your title so much .. :)
and that little baby would be over 8 years old now .. time warp .. !! .. ;)

Oh Lydia! This is amazing! It takes a LOOOOOT of patience to get those great baby pictures -- the ones that make it look so easy, right? I'm glad she stopped screaming long enough for you to NAIL this! :)

"Hello little, princess," greeted her father as he picked her up. He had been away from home on a long tour of duty. This was his first introduction to his baby daughter upon his return. She looked at her father and welcomed him home with a smile.

The title and photo speaks the above story to me. To me, this captures a very beautiful interaction between father and daughter. To me, they are greeting one another in a playful exchange. Great capture of emotion on both of their faces.
