Finally ran across this tree island on the Loch Raven Reservoir when looking for a good landscape shot. Then had to wait for the right night. Didn't want a clear sky, some nights were raining. Finally went out Monday about 30 minutes after sunset and I think this turned out well. At first I thought the trees were the subject, but after editing, I realized the clouds are really important to the image. The clouds take your eyes directly to the tree, which helps your eyes transition down to the blurry water.
Cloned out a few minor imperfections (a few rain drops on the lens, duck shadows, lights in the distance, plane flying over). Crop, level, curves, brightness, resize, sharpen, denoise.

| Has to be one of my favorite photographs in this challenge. The focus is perfectly place and gives off such a calm feeling. Bump to 9. |
