Well I don't really believe in New Years resolutions as people tend to break them too easily, but I do believe in setting goals throughout the year.

This is one of my goals really for DP, to not be afraid to post what I love instead of trying to please the masses.

As to the nice comment from 31_N.gif dali_lama_2k this was taken from the outside looking in, I sprayed some water on the window, to give a hazy look, simple and effective, the rest just converted to black and white, added vignette, a bit of grain, adj contrast. Not much really. Glad you liked it.

Thanks for all you other kind folks for the nice messages you left.

This is one I should have stopped to comment on a while ago. There's something really magical about this shot. The tones and his gaze. It really just pulls you in. Congrats on capturing this beautiful picture!

Listen to what 21_N.gif tanguera said Anita! And remind yourself every day what you just decided:
to not be afraid to post what I love instead of trying to please the masses.

Anita -- it seems to me you have been experimenting a lot the past few months. While many of my experiments seem to blow up in my face, your experimentation has produced an array of fascinating images. This is yet another. You are inspiring me to be more bold.

I'm guessing we'll see a lot of these goals :) no harm! hmmm, this looks like it was taken through something and not just pp'd. Please share when the time comes. Without losing any modern sense, it reminds me of old-time movies where the lamp would provide uneven illumination of the nitrates . . . i especially like how the subject is looking very slightly up and to their right and not dead-on. gives excellent feeling of being intimately scrutinized.

This is one of my two favourite image in this challenge. The crop and processing used make it an extremely powerful image.
