I was struggling with this idea of one heart standing out among several others. I called Ryan for ideas and he came up with the idea of putting some of the candy hearts on sticks stuck in styrofoam! A teeny bit of BluTak did the job beautifully, and didn't show. The foam is half of a roughly golf/tennis sized ball, and the bamboo skewers are stuck in it. The rest of the cinnamon hearts filled the martini glass nicely. The clear heart is a charm that came with a Valentine's Day candle.

Lit by an overhead flood, light bounced into side nearest the camera by reflector. Camera on tripod; bg is a sheet of white foamcore.

pp: RAW-TIFF conversion, crop, clone out hook on main heart, dodge out some shadows, brightness/contrast, vibrance, resize, save for web.

Another example of the commercialisation of Valintines day directly after Christmas! Nice capture though! :)

What an interesting image. It takes a bit of study. I like that.

Fun shot! This setup would also work well with a piece of glass held above the bowl with the floating hearts placed on the glass. There is a touch of red glare on the background making it appear with somewhat of a pinkish hue... other than that, no complaints!
