I really like this image! I have cropped it from the original composition which will cost me in votes as it doesn’t show the significance of the shallow dof. However, I prefer this composition so and it was never going to ribbon anyway.

I’m also aware that selective desat is not popular (don’t usually like it much myself) but I feel it works here. The surrounding ground cover was very green and distracted from the cherry tomato too much. Besides, I have never tried a selective desat before and wanted to see if I can do it. I’m still not too sure if I pulled it off ok.

At first I wondered why the cherry tomato was talking to a fuzzy mushroom.....THENNNNNN I saw the whiskers!

So hard to get good exposure and detail on a black and white animal. Though the moment captured is good and the selective color an excellent choice, I find this much to difficult to work out and I'm not really seeing much use of shallow dof, either.

Interesting shot... while I normally appreciate dark & murky photos, I think it works against you in this challenge because it makes the shallow DoF much harder to see. You get points for being different :)
