Sobering shot...good DOF and I like the colors of the flag against the white of the snow.

Nice shot. Nice exposure too... hard to do with all the white.

There are a lot of great elements happening in this image. First the story and mood are outstanding. The flag is very dramatic visually and emotionally. Especially the struggle to emerge from the snow. The snow atop the gravestones is a very fitting touch. The blurred grey tombstones in the background further amplify the sombre ones in the midground. Personally to me this is more a patriotic message than technically aiming towards the theme of four. But that is a minor point not worth quibbling over.I was a little mean and took 1 point off because of this. My apologies for being Scrooge. This is an exceptional image that has both a first rate concept and impecable execution. 8

I would not have frame the 'stick' of the flag' in front of the grave. Stil a nice shot. 7 Lionel

Everything inside of me wants to give you a 10 for what you are saying, but I can't. I wish all 4 had been in focus. As it is the only thing really in focus is the flag. Maybe you should have set out 4 flags. I love the snow, the composition, the thought expressed but the best I can give it because of the focus is 4. I hate that, too. PTL

A powerful photo although the shallow DOF sends my attention to the flag rather than the tombstones - which is not what I expected in the "four" challenge.
