 I’m sure most people will get the title in regards to the collective noun for Crows is a Murder. I also liked the title as it adds another dimension and possible explanation for the headless crow in flight.

I kept the composition from the original shot as I liked the eye to be drawn to the centre with the prime subject of the headless bird in flight. I feel there is enough happening below and to the right to give it a ‘thirds’ compositional feel. I also feel the excessive negative space of sky nicely compensates for the black of the building.

I’m under no illusion that this will be a generally appealing image but it is the shot that I liked the most for the month and so it’s the one I have entered. I expect this to finish in the low 5’s. I also like this shot and it might have achieved high 5’s or even finished in the 6’s but it was not my personal favourite for December.
