| I'm not sure about the post-processing on this image... the "Dave Hill" look (which is what it reminds me of) doesn't suit every picture, and I think the lighting in the source image has to be carefully desgined for it to really work. |

That's fun, and a good, interesting, 'breathing' picture in spite of because of its photographic informality. A very fine example of when it's a good idea to forget about ticking all the boxes, and just enjoy the moment together. Which makes it just right for a real rather than idealised family memory. | This is well-taken, the exposure is good and and so is the focus but it's a bit like a holiday snap (albeit a good one), it doesn't say 'family' to me, it suggests more like 'Summertime' or 'holidays'. Shame about the slight flare next to her ear. Generally it's a nice happy shot but doesn't really fit this challenge in my eyes. |
