Hey this is really cool! My first real ribbon! Thanks everyone! :-)

This was taken during my Thanksgiving camping trip in Comb Wash (near Blanding, Utah). We climbed up into a cave and I thought I'd take some family shots for everyone for their Christmas cards. This is the wonderful McCollaum family posing in the picture for me. They were such great sports!

Congrats on the ribbon! I didn't even think those were real people until I read your comments--it's such a surreal scene, and the posing is so impeccable as to seem, well, nearly impossible (especially for such a big family of presumable amateur models)!

Glad you decided to start submitting again :)

I would think it would have to be a Judi. :)

If not, consider it a compliment!

I've been going back and forth on the negative space. My first thought was that I absolutely loved the negative space!

My next thought was that it would have been awesome as an extreme panoramic crop.

My next thought was: Either way it would be awesome, and either way would tell a slightly different story. Beautifully done -- can't see it getting anything but blue. 9 (voted earlier)

fun and creative. Technically great, but I wish you were zoomed in a little more (less black) 9.5 ->10

(It's going to be close between this and the lions :) )

Awesome use of silhouettes! Maybe just a little less black around the edges to allow the figures to be more prominent? Either way ... nicely done.

VERY cool. I would love to have some sort of detail in the darkness, but the formation is terrific!

Very cool idea and very nicely shot, although this doesn't convey 'family' to me so much as 'acrobatics'! A different title may have helped, like 'supporting each other' for example.

Great poses in silhouette and I love them against the orange and white. I would crop severely -- don't see why any loss in detail would matter but I may be wrong. Maybe a severe pano with a bit off the left and lots off the top and bottom. Then you could set it off with a double top and bottom border -- narrow white and a wide brownish orange -- to bring it back to a 2:3 ratio.
