By far my favorite this month. It was a truly beautiful morning -- the fog makes the distant shoreline on the river disappear.

I can't believe that I have a 7+ going in to rollover. If this makes top three, I'll give the embarrassing details of the shot. :)

Here were other options. I really like these, but the cypress were my first love.

Thanks for the great votes and wonderful comments!

oh my oh my oh my oh my!!!! A blue in a free study!?!! I thought those were just dreams! I'm so psyched!

Oh wait...

details...

hmmmm... well...

It was a foggy morning, and I love these trees in the fog. I had taken them from one direction before, and it looked like if I kept heading down the beach, that I could actually get the sun in the shot. I was so excited. I was dressed for work, which is actually an old pair of jeans and a dirty tshirt (I'm working as a technician at the college). Anyway, I'm walking along the beach, watching the sun get closer and closer to the ideal place, when suddenly there's an inlet in front of me, and no way around it. Of course it had to be high tide. I'd crossed the inlet before at low tide, but there was no way of getting across without getting soaked, and I didn't have another pair of work jeans.

So, I stripped off the jeans and waded across the inlet, holding them over my head.

Now this may not be a big deal for some of you, but, the whole time I was doing it, I kept saying over and over "I can't believe I'm doing this, I can't believe I'm doing this!" After I got across, I got several incredible photos, was extremely happy, until I realized I had to go back across again! Seriously. Once was enough. I heard voices down the beach, but I don't think I was spotted.

Anyway, the ripples in the water were an extremely pleasant accident. That was me. I was irritated at the time, because I was loving the reflections, but the rippled reflection was so much better and more interesting -- it was worth stripping down to my underwear for the shot. :)

Ok. There! I told you!

truly wonderful! I`ve found your description very interesting. That`s what makes a hobby (or passion) inspiring, after staring with photography I´ve done also things some other people would describe as stupid only for a picture. But this is what makes it worthwhile.

Great shot and the accompanying behing the scenes story. You're a trooper and your efforts were very highly rewarded. Interesting how experiences like this just make us push through even further next time when we need to get that great shot. Safety first though :)
