This is funny. I'm not sure what the title is supposed to represent, but I like the approach. You might try a less obvious blend on the hair of the left image; the fade makes me more apparent that it is artificial. (Not that it wouldn't be obvious, but if this image did exist, he wouldn't likely have a see through head. Make sense?)

The sad emotion of this is contradictory to the colorful nature of the picture which aids in telling the story of the incomplete metamorphosis. It gives a feeling of regret for past actions or of the person missing something.

You left me speechless here. Which is usually a good sign. I see no use of it as a photo BUT it's important as a document. Yes, the document of the incomplete metamorphosis! (and an exercise in expert editing)
The expression of the man is wonderful, especially the one in the background. The metamorphosis did not take away his poise. It's the surprised look that we have at ourselves when we grow old.
