Yes, this is my basement. Bonus points to anyone who names the three posters :)

When my wife and I were searching for homes, we happened upon this house that was priced at the same as some of the other houses around, but included a fully done basement with home theatre (all equipment included) and a hot tub. turns out that this house was on the market for a year before we bought it and we got it for $60k less than originally asking. We love this house, it was the perfect buy.

Movie nights are especially fantastic. There is full 7.1 surround sound hooked up to a 92" projector. Turn down the lights and you have a great watching experience. It was especially nice to watch the Packers win the Super Bowl with a group of about 15 people :)

Lighting: Technically there were 6 light sources for this photo. You can see three overhead recessed halogens. Behind the camera there are two more over two other posters. Then I also used a flash with a mini soft box from the upper left. I held the flash so as to splash light out of the side of the soft box which helped the light wrap around the bowl without creating too bad of a reflection. I also had a 1/4 CTO gel on the flash to get the light a bit closer to the halogen color and provide a more natural feel (instead of the blueish looking light that came out of the unglued flash).

Post Processing:
* Straighten
* Increase exposure and recovery
* Decrease black point
* Increase brightness
* Increase contrast
* Dodge and higher contrast for the popcorn
* Topaz DeNoise
* Topaz InFocus (I recently rediscovered how nice the "sharpening" effect is)
* Increase recovery
* Decrease black point
* Increase definition
* Increase saturation and vibrancy
* S-curve
* Export as TIFF
* Resize
* Sharpen Edges
* Save as JPEG

It's Star Trek First Contact, yet another geek poster :)
I'm surprised nobody else was guessing.

Hmmm...either you have a wonderful home theater or the movie theater you visit has the best popcorn "buckets" ever!

I love this shot. It's a bit odd that the bg is better lit than the subject, but somehow it all works.

Nice popcorn, might want to change the title to fit "home" more. Right now it just looks like a movie theater.

So you mean to tell me that you have a movie theater in your home? I'm so jealous! Cool bowl you have there also.
