This is actually an outtake from a somewhat failed photo adventure with a pal. We set out to shoot The Dominator - a ship that ran aground on the Palos Verdes peninsula in the 1960s. After hiking over rocks and boulders for almost an hour, we finally came upon the remains: one completely rusted engine block. That's it. The rest had finally been reclaimed by the sea. It wasn't even a very big engine - something that would easily fit into an economy car! Fortunately, we shot other things as well, and this was one of those things. Never even considered it for this challenge until I started going through my shots of the day. I think it fits the challenge. I hope you do too.

Haha. It took me a while to figure out what you meant, but eventually I got it :-)

I loved this shot. The dramatic contrast on the ocean is something I love. I normally over-do it, but this is perfect!

Very nice image, but I think this would have been better in color.

Rich contrasts and textures like an Ansel Adams. I like how the clouds mimic the waves. My only nit is that so much of this IS horizontal, that maybe backing off and showing more of the tree would have suited the rules, but no big deal.
