What an intriguing and strange shot. I love the way it is post processed and composed. It makes me think what they are doing and i don't really get the sense that they are falling, but it is wonderful to look at and makes me think

i disagree with those who say that it doesn't match your title.

it reminds me of when I was a kid and I would stand on my head, i would feel disoriented because the sky was below me.

This pic is perfect the way it is, the dirty feet represent childhood, and the photo means much more than just the action of "falling" right? It represents a whole era in my life, and is highly nostalgic.

Kudos on the ribbon.

I got so caught up in knowing who took this shot that I forgot to say in my original comment that I really did like the image. (No I didn't vote different even though I was pretty sure whose work this was. It would have got the same vote regardless:)) It was a very different mood and look when compaired to most of the other images in the challenge. Good work once again. You definately have a style starting and it suits you well.

Looks to be heavily processed and I really don't like the composition. No blur does not look like falling. Sharpening looks to be excessive, as well.

Your familiar style will doubtless prejudice many voters' truly objective opinion on this one. : )

As usual, it's technically very good, but the title is what the shot relies on for it's character, more so than the actual subjects. If I remove the title and look at this as an image only, I see an attractive pic (thanks mainly to your post-processing) but some average composition and not particularly evocative subjects. The feet are in the air but they do look so posed that it's difficult to see past it.

I would prefer to have seen an action shot of the same idea but with some sand flying up from the movement with the feet frozen in the frame, perhaps panned round to the side and viewed almost as four feet together. This may also have worked with water, although the sand on the soles adds its most interesting feature as it stands.

Super idea, sky is great. Border too heavy for me. This one should finish way towards the top.

08/12/2004 10:18:12 AM
Good shot and lighting condition, but maybe to much of the clouds above the feet. Without the bright spot at the top it would be better.

08/12/2004 04:29:23 AM
Excellent, I think even one pair of feet would have worked here, closer.
Great shot.

I don't know about the 'fallng', but as a life drawing practitioner, the feet fascinate me. Interesting shot.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
08/10/2004 11:41:18 AM
A bit too contrived for my taste, but it does get your attention in that you wonder how did they get the feet to show with sand intact...then you think of ways.

nice pose and comp, but quality seems very off.

The legs look kind of bumpy & Jarred around the edges. Perhaps a little too much D&B for my tastes. With B&W it works well but sometimes excessive dodging & burning can make it look too artificial.

still it's an 8, just trying to give a little critique of something that will probably get 99% positives.
