Spent a quiet week at a friend's family lake cottage. At sunset one evening I grabbed a book Melina had just finished and Ellie's flip flops and head down to the dock. I got some interesting pics with nice long shadows. After I transferred them to the computer I noticed a blurry spot in every one. The lens had a smudge. So, the next night I reshot with a clean lens. No long shadows this time out. I wonder if the long shadows would have scored higher...

Come back to view this, as my daughter won this same book for being top English student in her final year. But the cover is different to this one, hers has the characters on the front. Anyway now I have no excuse not to read it.

Very nice colours, composition, and detail. The only thing I think would improve the photo is if you removed the dust cover off the book.
