It's the middle of winter here. It's cold and wet and this gentleman was about to go for an early morning swim...

Awesomely haunting. I wonder where you were to get this great POV.

It's ok, his budgies will protect him. Really classy pic.

Superb Nick, I love that POV, down low, makes the water shimmer.

Isn't he the Spartan? I can't even think about swimming at the moment. I love your processing - suitably grim.

Simple strong image - B&W works well here.

Ahhh, some people have it, some don't.

You've given this an interesting, alien atmosphere that is most appealing.

What a great use of overlays/textures - whatever you used - I am here to learn because I really don't understand much about applying such to make such fantastic photos.

As jagar has commented, this was a great photo before you did anything but now, it is a fantastic one. The reflection the tonal range, the composition - so well done.

I'm sure the cold is relative. It's probably as warm as our water is here in the height of summer. Water temp is around 20C right now :)

Love this Nick, it has a 1930s feel to it (apart from the bathing suit).

I love that I can't see his face clearly. So mysterious!

Wonderful POV, almost like he's walking on the water...how could I not love cement skies? Beautiful. That guy is crazy :-)

I should have expected nothing less than this perfect image, Nick. Really wonderful. I'm such a sucker for the silhouette, as you know. Great way to start out. Welcome to the side challenge!!

Were you already in the water when you took the photo? :) (very low POV) Nice rough texture to suit the mood

In this the grunge gives it the cold feeling that wouldn't have been otherwise conveyed.

Lovely. I think he's standing above about a three inch deep puddle and thinking of swimming it anyway.

That's just wonderful, it's a great photo by itself but this type of PP makes it even better.
