candid portrait at the Capiliano Suspension Bridge park. Who knows what she was thinking about while standing there and waiting (most likely, for her grandchildren to return from traversing the swaying bridge). She seemed to be somewhere very far away from all the touristic hoopla around her.

...As I said, I have no idea what she was thinking about, but when I look at this photo today, I can't help thinking about Hiroshima, August 6, and Nagasaki, August 9, 1945... Never again.

You have captured an emotional image, she certainly looks lost in thought.

textures and b/w are great - I'm hoping the story has a happy ending.

I really like the shot but I think the B/W conversion could have been better.

Way overprocessed for my tastes.

Always love "weathered" personality captures. The pose goes with the title well. Great B/W conversion.

I like the grittiness and the b/w conversion of the edit.

Not sure about the title, but I do like the shot alot. Wonderful study of textures and tones. She seems so weary.

A very nice street portrait.. I'm always torn by the cropping on these, it seems that the in vogue thing is to really fill the frame.. I guess it does work, but there's something about not seeing the top of her hat and her not having just a bit more space in front of her face, that just... Dunno, just kinda makes me wonder if I'd like it more with a looser crop... Still - great image, I'm hoping you've posted a story with this one.
