There are lots of tutorials on street photography, most of them mention these simple principles.

Here is one

[Jul. 24th, 2011 12:20:14 PM]

I managed to get a few shots of this gentleman without him noticing, for some reason i preferred this shot when he finally did notice me. I showed him the pictures on the back of the camera and sat and chatted with him for a while, he said he would like me to do them in black & white.

Thanks for the votes that i think have been exceptionally generous.

I get lost in your images so easily. It feels like I become part of the shot immediately. Always engaging in the first 5 seconds, there is so much more to notice and ponder. Thank you.

Hey just looking at this again, is that where you shot the 'insecure cat', behind the gentlemans feet ? Actually just had a look it's not the same.

Excellent advice and a marvelous shot! I find that his reflection shows his softer, kinder side. Isn't that interesting?

Wonderful portrait, strikes me as a 21.gif jagar...signature contrast and compositional thought. The reflection is quite interesting in that the crutches are not present, as if we are seeing the man without the disability. It is this nuance that makes this a dynamic photograph, one to remember.

I felt sad for the old man. Did you help him after taking his photograph? :(

Is there actually a tutorial for that? LOL Nice going. I love his reflection like an alter-ego facing the other way.
