My own little tutorial on this shot:

My house was built in the 1800's so it has a great old look to it. One day while I was in the basement I noticed the shadow effect on the stairs when I left one of the back lights on. I've wanted to take a picture of it ever since. For the shot, I have that same back light on, along with one speedlight on the wall under the stairs leaning against the floor joist (which is actually a wooden beam). I also asked my girlfriend to walk up the stairs to add a little more to the shot.
After processing this pictures I reshot the whole thing removing the shadow on the bottom right and moving the chair over to even out the picture...but I ended up using the original instead. I just liked the looks of that one more.

The entry was around 6.7 when I first looked at...then it sunk down to just under 6.2 around 40 votes.

As I type this it's gone up to:

love the plaster and the chair; I love how it could be outside under a back porch light, or more likely in the cellar. Nice work, very interesting.
