Composition Very good!
Background - The background works very well with this!
Camera work Very good great use of depth of field, exposure and lighting good!
My Opinion
An excellent shot that definitely says wow to me! It has it all great colour, good depth of field beautiful shapes it makes you want to keep looking!

| Look at that! No 1s, 2s or 3s! And only one 4. This was my favorite for the week. Great eye! The crackled ice really puts this one into a class by itself. Wonderful! (easy fav!) |

| 9........ I like the colours. i like it with a tighter crop on the left of the picture. I think you sharpened, but not sure..... I think i can see a bit of it. |

| Stunning! The person who took that other icy twig photo in this challenge would do well to compare it to yours. The composition here is beautiful, the DOF brings all the focus onto the front twig and leaf, but there is a dynamic, colourful background to support it. The curl of the leaf is a beautiful shape, and the colour definitely "pops". I love being able to see all the cracks in the ice. This just isn't a sight I ever see in Australia, so it's almost alien to me. 10. |

| Great composition and color (or general lack thereof). The red really stands out and grabs attention for this picture. The detail of the ice is simply awesome and this is a great use of a narrow depth of field. The picture, if focused entirely, would be way too busy, but the blurry background really emphasizes the subject. |

| Lovely shot. Good lighting and focus. VERY nice colours. I had probably framed it a little harder to leave the left twig out. (Well, not SO sure). Anyhow a nice photo to look at. |

| While there were several this week I really like, this is my favorite! I just love the cracked ice on the branches. The drip off the leaf is great too. Great color!!!! An easy 10 in my book! Swash |

I love it. When I lived up north (for most of my life) I loved photographing ice-encased flora. You did a good job of exposing to get detail, and none of it is blown out. The colors are superb, with only the reds evident, in an otherwise nearly monotone composition.
Dof is very good, isolating the foreground subject from the bg. The bg shows just enough detail to give a sense of environment.
The only thing I'd like to see differently is to eliminate the twig on the left. Maybe...but maybe not. ;-0 |

| Wow, great macro shot! The colours, DoF, and focus are all spot-on. I'm not so sure about the twig on the left though, and I would probably crop it out of the shot, but otherwise this is a superb shot. |

| This is a wonderful macro shot. Your DOF is perfect and the clarity is very good. I especially like the way the second small twig is "pointing" to the larger one that is the main subject. Good luck! |

This is a nice composition. I like the clarity of the lines in the ice on the stalk. DOF may work opened up a little, not to much, the blur of the background is needed, but with as much as you have, it almost looks, i dunno, like it has jpeg artifacts, but I know it doesn't. Again, nice shot! |

| I really like how you have used DOF to your advantage here. Having the icey sticks in the background, with the close up in the foreground really makes this a nice shot. I also like the color in the shot, and the focus and detail are also well done. I like the sqare-ish crop too. Nice job. good luck in the challenge. |

| I don't think a border was needed for this picture, but it doesn't take away from it either. Incredible photo. The color is amazing and I just love it. in looking for a flaw the only thing I could possibly complain about is the focus on the drop of water about to fall from the icicle. None the less this picture certainly makes me say wow. Well done. |

| The background of this is really nice. I love the out of focus ice covered branches. The only thing I'm not sure about is the branch on the right. Can't tell if I'd have liked it better without. |
