Reshoot of with a completely different take on my usual approach to the jetty, plus a much more sophisticated, but still overpowering, approach to the tone mapping.

should have given this a 10 instead of a 9 then you could have gotten the 6... hmm or i should have given you a 1 and maybe beaten you :)

Serious drama in that sky, Bear.

A wild image, and certainly a strange sky! I like that you created a puzzling quality to the spatial relationships with the processing.

Ouch, missed that magic 6 by the slightest hair! Doncha' hate that? I must say I am bewildered that the very similar earlier entry pulled a high 6 and this didn't get near it. Popular appeal is an unpredictable thing for those of us that don't shoot squirrels.

It's very nice how the turbulent clouds mirror the tracked up sand in the lower right. Too bad you couldn't have known about this cloud formation a few minutes earlier so that you would have had more composition opportunities.

Processed to death ... but it became a nice illustration. IMO the black borders and the white lines are completely unnecessary and take away some of the drama. Drama does not need to be confined.

My kind of image! Love the dramatic skies and the HDR pp.

WEll done... Some will think the processing is overly done... and it might be... but I like it.

I may or may not be voting, so please do not equate my comment with any score.

Hard to tell which is the original, is it this?

I'm not really feeling the colors of this image. I like the darkness, but the contrast between the black and the color is a bit too striking for me.

Stunning. I love the rich textures of the clouds and shore. The complimentary deep blues and rich browns really work together. This would be great enlarged really BIG on a canvas. :)

I like this type of HDR shot. You couldn't have picked a better title.
