 I am very happy with how this shot turned out. I first heard this song around a year ago, a good friend of mine, Canaan Smith, helped write it and he had it on his myspace for awhile. I fell in love with it the moment I heard it and when this challenge was announced I knew this was the song I wanted to use.

The song is about a woman but I think the meaning can relate to many of us who just feel lost and alone and are self destructive in trying to cope. I wanted to use stuff from the lyrics as well as other things we may use when down. I didn't want to look at the camera and instead chose to look off as if I was ashamed to look you in the eyes. I hope I managed to convey a sense of sadness and despair in this shot. This is one of my more artistic and meaningful shots I have done and I hope it shows. I hope you enjoy it.
