Greetings from the Critique Club!
This is a great shot. I love it. It has nice shapes, forms, textures, and color: all combined to make a photo with a lot of impact. The black background is perfect. The dirt is controversial. I personally like it; it gives the image an earthy feel as well as makes viewers wonder why it is there. Very creative and technically perfect. |

| this is way cool, lee. when i first saw the thumb, i thought it had an eerie, sort of david lynch quality to it, i guess because of the dirt. like there might be little bugs crawling around in it or something. ah well, lynch is weird and apparently so am i! :) going in my favs. |

| The color is really nice. I know I shouldn't be like this but the stuff (not the blueberries) in the spoon really is not appealing at all. This would have been a 10 without it. |

| ...and sawdust? I don't get it. I want to love this image, but the idea of food and dirt isn't very appealing. Original though, and good use of selective desaturation. |

| The blue on the berries is lovely. I think this would have been so much nicer without the dirt on the berries. The focus and lighting are really excellent. |

Very unusual treatment of a common subject.
The mix of textures and subdued lighting really add so much impact to this image.

| I'd wash them before eating them if I were you. They look a little dirty. Great out of the box macro shot. |

TEXTURE. This is an awesome example of how texture and colour can make a
very appealing image. I love this shot. I hope others do too. I'm picking it for top ten.

| Great shot, not sure why the dirt in the spoon with the bluberry? The blue is a bit artifical and not as natural as I would like it. But good overall! 7 |
