Challenge: Flowers in Garden & Field (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Date: May 13, 2011
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 80
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Landscape, Floral
Date Uploaded: May 15, 2011

I went for a ride in the mountains to test my new motorcycle. I had brought my camera as I always do. Arrived on the shores of this lake I decided to take a break and take some pictures. When I saw this picture on the screen of the camera, everything seemed perfectly in focus. I wanted to make more shots from different angles but soon it began to drip and I was not equipped for rain. As I was about 100 miles from home I decided to go back away from the storm. At home I realized that the flowers weren't in focus but I decided to post it anyway

Congratulations on your ribbon. I look through the top 20 to 40 images from every single challenge and I was curious about something with your entry...Did anybody mention the tilted horizon? Unbelievably, no! I couldn't pass on offering a constructive comment on something that, on one hand, I think is extremely important, but on the other hand, nobody mentioned. So, how important could it be? I still think that it is important and maybe you got away with it because the best reference to judge the horizon, the waterline, was obscured so much. Then again, maybe you got away with it because it is a beautiful picture with a great composition. You certainly deserve points for the low perspective and the composition with the group of flowers bottom right leading your eye to the mountain peak top left. Overall great job, but I felt it would be wrong if the tilted horizon was not mentioned as something that could be improved upon.

Congratulations on your ribbon. Great eye. Perhaps not by design that the flowers were OOF but it proves that not everything needs to be tack sharp either. Another "bridge" camera takes a ribbon!

Striking composition, but would prefer it if the flowers were sharper for this challenge.

I like this, but the flowers appear to be a bit out of focus. Nice colours! 6

That sky is just too saturated, it makes your flowers feel washed out. A nice three layer composition but the main subject feels a bit squeezed. never the less one of the best compositions.

This is really cool. It's a great photo. But for some reason.. I don't know if it's the editing or what.. It looks artificial to me. The different colors and terrain (and sky) clash so much that it almost looks pasted together. I love the bright colors and the fact that you were able to capture SO MANY different types of landscapes together all at once, but it's not something I'd hang on my wall. It almost looks over-edited.

the clarity of these flowers is very soft...no your mountain on the other hand is nice and sharp...hmmm

Epic background, bur the processing makes the foreground flowers look a little flat.

Can't beat that setting! A little more clarity of focus in the flowers in the foreground for this challenge but for any other challenge - great!

Beautiful composition and what a place. Giving this a 7, but with few changes like having flower in focus, not so over processed sky and mountain in the back it would have been a 10 in my books.

Very nice composition, but the colors especially of the sky looks too saturated.
