 First ribbon!!! YEAH!!!
Okay where do I begin...

Thank you all for your votes and wonderful comments! This was a fantastic week, yesterday the score went over 7 (I've never seen a 7 before!), I hoped it would stay there and it did!!! This morning I opened mail first and saw the validation request, then the dpc page and it was there!

Just a few weeks ago I had a chat with tanguera and I said, no chance I will win a ribbon before YOU do. And we both did, on free study! Johanna I'm so glad you got the red, congratulations!

The image - getting up very early on Easter wasn't easy but I'm so glad I did! It was very still by the lake, also unbelievably noisy from all the wildlife around me, birds, frogs, dogs, everything awoke with first light. The light changed by the minute. This was made out of three exposures with really minimal pp adjustments. I had to preserve the beautiful light of sunrise. Bear_Music once taught me how to add "dimension" to the scenes but I've also used that in a very small amount. Somehow this peaceful scene didn't seem to need too much drama. Still it was an interesting thought process of focusing on what I want out of the image... something I can proudly say I've learned on DPC.

And yet as usual I wasn't sure about the result... big, special thank you ivki for eliminating my doubts and making me enter this image as it was originally processed. This one is for you.

The scene - this is lake Dojran, the smallest lake on the Macedonian-Greek border, and a very rich wildlife spot. It lost a big part of its water some 10 years ago in an ecological disaster (the trees you see in the water grew on dry land). Luckily it was taken care of and the lake is almost back to its original level. The metal boat is a trademark of this place.

I had a special feeling about this photo from the moment I saw it, it was somehow complete and magical, and it made me feel so calm and peaceful! I am so extremely happy that this shot brought you your first ribbon:) I love it, it’s my favorite! Congrats and I hope this is just a start of a beautiful friendship with the ribbons for you:)))
