Ok. I really wasn't planning on doing another squirrel. Honestly!! I actually just lucked upon this shot.

The thing is, they keep eating the bird food! I used to be able to photograph birds on my deck railing, but since I let the squirrels eat for one or two challenges, I now have 4 squirrels and they sit and eat anything I put out for the birds.

And I mean they sit and eat!

They don't move -- they just sit until the whole pile is gone!

Anyway, I was trying to get a bird shot for bokeh, and the squirrel kept going after the food, so I put out some peanuts (no salt) for the squirrels to keep them busy.

They still don't trust me. They'll pick up a peanut and immediately jump into the tree. Or they'll pick up the peanut and turn their back towards me.

Well, this one would pick up a peanut, and jump into the tree. After awhile he got tired of it, and tried picking up two peanuts at once. He did it two times and I was able to get off two shots. Here's the other one:



He never did it again. If I wasn't watching, I would have missed it all. :D

Last day of voting. 6.9 -- extra peanuts for the squirrels tomorrow!

I can't believe how tack sharp this is! ... I was just staring at the detail for the past 5 minutes... LOVE it!

I am a really technical person and I HATE pics shot from a telephoto lens that are not sharp... yours is TACK on!

Hey everyone's gotta eat, the birds get to swoop down. I live near woods, and I put out feed everyday, and the squirrels and birds eat together.

Anyhows....great shot, amazing clarity.

Oversharpened on my monitor... but PERFECT for the challenge. I love the black background and him shoving those nuts is as quickly as he can. Reminds me of someone... oh wait! me. *sigh* 8
