Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This was the most thrilling challenge, I was on score therapy, checking it only once a day. :(

Taken at the start of the kayak track, at the point where the water rushed down. The very next moment after this one is where the kayaker hits that white foam on the left - also a dramatic scene, but not as much as this one.

Nothing much is done in processing, some color enhancement with Viveza and lots and lots of sharpening to turn the blur into brush strokes.

This is completely inspired by the posthumous image in the previous Fine Arts challenge. Couldn't match that title, though.

Thank you for the comments and faves! (doing my little dance now)

The Jury results are in...

Thank you for the Honorable mention!
Here are their comments...

Leaves me breathless, I love the sparkling clarity of it.

...because of the water and the colour. Because high energy sports are so contemporary, because it is so obviously digital, because it is way oversharpened and yet somehow that works in this image, because of the energy.

There's a certain flow that works, and the sharpness and strong colour work well.

A cool photographic effect.

Great colours ... I do like the attempt to reduce to the energy of the rushing water and the sport so captured.

I like the sharpness as opposed to the usual soft look of these. Kayaking never looked so good ;)

The only "abstract" photo in my top picks. Successful as a free study and as contemporary art. Beautiful, too.

I love looking at this image. I can see what it is but it doesn't look like what I see. The processing makes the shot. Nice job.

Great movement, this has Ursula written all over it, but could be wrong.

The textures on this are killer. Alternating between smooth like an oil panting and edged like the strokes of a paintbrush upon acrylic. Interesting how the kayaker initially doesn't present itself with a coherent form, yet once identified, they spring undeniably from the water. Wonder if this is Tome... in due time.

Dang those curves are cool. Maybe oversharpened for a websize image but I bet large this puppy is even more stunning. If I were a kayaker I would purchase this as a big canvas print. Lovely image.
