I love underwater shots, I wanted to try something. But I have limited resources so I decided to just try my big soaker tub. It actually turned out better than I thought. My ten year old protested a bit, she was sure she would get water up her nose. She was right and after about 5 shots she had had it. I'm glad 1 of the 5 worked out.

I was editing it last night and my 10 year old asked my if I was going to enter it in a challenge, I said I was and she said, "you better enter that shot after what I went through" so I guess I will take the advice of my 10 year old and get to entering it.

I may get some flack for the title but it fit so well with what I was trying to convey with this photo that I had to do it.

Score prediction: I REALLY like this shot so it is hard to be objective. I am hoping for a high 6, 6.8 or 6.9. But I might be up against some stiff competition so I most likely will have my hopes dashed.

I'm sorry, Jennifer... I really, really don't like how this makes me feel...

BUT, it's very well done. LOL!

Beautiful high key shot that has a creepy eerie feel. I have trouble getting my daughter to just sit for a few pictures -- yours is quite brave. Great job, Jenn.

Congrats on your top 10 finish! I didn’t get a chance to comment on this challenge but this was my favourite and only 10. I love it while haunted by it.

When I first saw this image, I thought of this image by njsabs

Your image has a more formal feel with a strong sense of finality with the crossed arms like the ancient Egyptian mummy. The ripples and the hair provide an eerie frame to repose of her face. I anticipate this image will do well for you, Jenn! Good Luck! (no vote)

This is one of those, that to me is more modern art than fine art. It is thought provoking and certainly evokes an emotional response from the viewer. I'm going to think on this one.

Not sure if this is fine art because i'm not sure what fine art is, whatever its a photo that i like and that's fine enough for me.

What a powerful image. I have to admit I don't fully understand it, however I do like it very much. I think I feel like that after a very long day sometimes.

Very effective photograph. All of the technicals are spot on but above all this connects emotionally with the viewer. Nice use of high key. I have an idea who the photographer might be, can't wait until the challenge is over to see if I am right. 8

Visceral and shocking, which gets my attention. As a parent, you've reached into my instincts and triggered a response. Pretty amazing image based on the reaction it provokes.

The top is a bit too blown out for me, but it's still a great, interesting and original shot! 9

It seems 3 of my top 4 picks deal with death. It's a fascinating subject, especially in art. Drowning is always portrayed as so peaceful, but it's not. From what I understand it's very painful. But we all want our illusions so we'll keep it this way. Beautifully done! 10
