 A spring snow coated just the trees and bushes overnight. The sky and grass made for a wonderful contrast with the trees. I was able to get one shot, then my card was full and for a reason not known to me, I was unable to delete some other images on the card so I could take more shots of this scene. Had to get in my car and begrudgingly drive away. But was way happy when I got home and saw this image.

I am participating in the "Why a '5' not a '6'?" commenting activity (see recent forum thread). Viewers are asked to leave a comment with some of their votes of '5' letting the photographer know why, for them, it fell short of a vote of '6'. If you have found this comment useful, you may wish to offer some of your own to those images where you vote 5.

Really beautiful. Feels infrared and maybe it is. The colors do suggest the transitional time that is March or early spring. Why a five and not a six? I have to admit that I could easily have given this a six in a different frame of mind. For the purposes of this exercise, I won't bump it. Anyway, I feel like some more separation in the trees to make them pop a bit would have helped this along. Maybe it's the size of the image on my small screen that reduces them to a (mostly) white mass. But I'm trying to look past that.
