This is a really beautiful picture, the misty blue and mossy green colours are great. The placing of the waterfall is great, the line of the tree totally complements the waterfall. As many people have mentioned, the fence is a real distraction, for me this detracts from the overall beauty of the shot. Did you try leaning over the fence, maybe you didnt want to get too close to the edge, looks a long way down! I also wonder if there was place at the bottom of the fall that you could have taken this, looking up would have placed emphasis on the bottom of the falls and added emphasis to the motion of the water, while at the same time giving you the space to include only the elements that you want.
I love the lighting and the mist really adds a magical feeling to this. The bottom of the waterfall is especially lovely.
Overall, I love this picture, if you could only find a way to get rid of that fence this would be fantastic! Congrats on 7th place!

The colors in this shot are great. I love the green tones with the spike of blue down the middle and the blue haze hanging over. Great framing and neat shot. Must have been beautiful to see first hand. 7

Very nice subject matter. Mist adds a really nice touch. I like the composition of the waterfall and the trees (I like having both of them in the shot, they almost look identical), even the moss - its just the fence that bothers me - feels like a distraction and that it shouldn't be part of the picture. I don't know if another angle would have helped. Overall image has a slight blue cast. It does give the waterfall and its surroundings a mystical quality to it but the small blue cast doesn't make the green colors in the trees or moss look quite right. Fence notwithstaning though, a pretty nice image.

The fence REALLY detracts from the image... I think that cutting the fence out would have been better than leaving the bottom of the waterfall in.... or possibly going over the fence ;)
If there wasn't a fence I would have NO problem giving this a 10....

A lovely picture that captures the mood, and also the motion. Good luck.

Stands out compared to the many other waterfall pictures: this one is really loooong. One really moves the eyes all the way from the top to the bottom.

Put a bird in this and it would be a Robert Bateman painting..great composition..love the mist and moss on the trees.(10)

the fence is distracting, but otherwise, very nice

Good shot. I think it would have been better without the fence... Cub

That is one awesome water fall. Did you try fining another vantage point that didn't have objects obstructing the view. Great shot nonetheless. Jacko 8

not a bad shot... the fence is a little distracting and I would be interesting in seeing a shot with the waterfall as the focus with the foreground blurred out... great color and lighting!

ONE OF MY FAVORITES ALONG WITH THE POOL TABLE AND THE AMERICAN FLAG...A 10

you should have kicked that fence down. Great apart from that.

nice. can you jump this one?

Interesting shot, but - IMHO - the wood & wire fence doesn't help frame the waterfall too well.

There are some real possibilities with this image. I wonder if there are other possible angles, even though the tree, the water fall and the rock on the left makes it a very nicely balanced image, the branches on top distorted the line of the waterfall. I'd perhaps move closer to the fence and try to use the branches as a complement rather than a distorting element in the photograph. Still, very nice photograph. 9 paganini

Oh my! That's friggin awesome! Can I live with you?

Lovely composition. The fence is a great help in breaking up the vertical lines. Did you try using an even slower shutter speed? This is a great waterfall for photography! You're lucky if you live near enough to go back. One of my favorites in this composition. ~indigo997
