 This is the very last picture of Auguste, the last of a very long series.
Auguste Peroni died last week age 86, he was a hard working wine grower and gardner in Armissan, France; and yes he actually planted decades ago these rows of cypresses in the local cemetery.

For twelve years now he has been an unprobable and excellent friend.
From my challenge and portfolio entries, here is a small tribute to a curious and generous old companion:

And I have taken over. Since Auguste became too frail to work outdoors, I planted about 250 trees in Armissan

So this was for real! Congratulations for such a great tribute. A generation hard to replace. Filled me with memories. Reminded me of Jean Giono's L'homme qui plantait des arbres.
