It feels a bit like a cop-out to submit a photo that's already received some comments and some favorites, but I really don't have much from 2010 that's (at all) noteworthy that hasn't been shared here before. Plus, with a scant 229 views of the profile version of this photo as of the time that I write these notes, I figure that a lot of voters probably haven't seen this yet.

Here are the comments copied from the portfolio version that I uploaded back in June:

--

70-300 mounted plus reverse ring plus reversed 50mm f/1.8.

Focal distance = .5-3cm. Focal depth = maybe 1mm.

I had to set the camera to a 10-second timer and then leave the room for each exposure, because I simply couldn't stay still enough to avoid camera shake. I wonder if cars driving by outside made for noticeable shake.

Edited to add: This is a backlit water droplet on a torn cotton pad. I wouldn't have taken this photo if not for ursula's macro work.

I recall this from a side challenge, but don't recall whose it is. I do recall thinking it was cool looking the first time around as well.

Fascinating shot. I love the darkness and the greens. I have no idea what I'm looking at - but in this instance, I don't really care. It's an interesting magical world.

This is incredible. My fav so far. Love the verdant tones. I rarely give 10's but I've given out two, one of which is this one.

Beautiful. A glimpse inside creation (I mean real creation of course, not that other nonsense). There's something very moving about it, something about the fragility of existence. The tenuous hold we have on our own future. But its tone is optimistic, not defeatist. I'd be elevated every time I saw it, which I will because it is definitely on my imaginary 2010 wall of excellence. Thank you.

I would guess this is Ursula's work. If not than that is the highest compliment I could of paid you. My only 10, halfway through voting.
