Probably my favorite shot from last year. There is just so much to see here, all the little vignettes playing out on the beach, and the gull and the wildflowers and the shoreline way in the background. A gray, cool day and yet there's bright color. It doesn't have spectacular light or movement ... but this is the image that speaks to me.
PP - tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), merged with original in luminousity mode at 20% transparency, straightened, cropped, levels, white balance, increased saturation and contrast, dodged gull and parts of background, cloned out one weird spot in the sky, burnt parts of background, resized, sharpened, cloned out jaggies around gull, added border. |

| I love it when a landscape has people in it. And a bird. This is really making me think of a jigsaw puzzle at the beach house. Wish I was there. Good work! |

| Great beach shot, however I think the beach goers do it a disservice. Love the colors, bad contrast hard with the people. |
