Setup was straightforward... I placed a jelly jar\drinking glass in front of my computer monitor and snapped away (the yellow and blue are from the wallpaper). Post processing wasn't too elaborate. Small selective color adjustment (to clean the blues), levels adjustment, curves adjustment, resized and sharpened. The dust\dirt speck on the lower right sux, but that's the Open Challenge at DPC!

The lens used was the venerable Sigma 50mm Macro.

Great shot! The lighting and composition create a very unique and detailed view of the textures in the glass. The use of yellow and blue is also excellent. I gave it a seven, but it might have slid up the scale another notch if I had completed my second pass at voting.

Great color, maybe a tad oversharpened. I like your chosen DOF.

Great use of DOF. I also really like the background as it lends nice touch of color to an otherwise colorless subject. Only thing I might have changed is maybe rotate the vessel a few degrees to the right so the bubble would not be visible. 8

I love this take on the challenge. Just enough definition to let us know what it is; great abstract and movement in the frame.

I only see a little green, but it's a neat shot none the less.

i haven't got a clue what it is. (wait... the top of a jar, right?). I was gonna say but I love it anyway because of the colors. So 8 from me, with or without recognition.

I like the DOF and composition - you make the threads on the jar very interesting. I'm not sure I care for the background, for me it's a bit too much and distracts from the cool jar.

I like the concept of this photo as well as the colors. I might have liked to see it with the face of the jar going across the entire frame. I dont know why but the negative space on the right distracts me. Good job.

Excellent use of the blue-yellow theme and very nice lighting setup too. Too bad it is a basic editing challenge - it could be cleaned up in spots. Even so - a great entry - thanks for sharing. I expect you will be in the top few.

Positively brilliant!! The colors are stunning and the focus and DOF are perfect. The slight white highlight on the upper right of the jar brings out the texture of the glass before it fades away into the smooth creaminess of the shallow depth of field. I couldn't give this less than a 10.

How are the colors done? Is it all in the background, or are there colored lights?
