I went out on a Sunday morning, not really expecting to get many results. It was -6F, and although I dressed for it, I knew my hands couldn't stand the cold forever. As I was driving through the UW Arboretum, I came to the gate that was supposed to be opened to through traffic on Sundays. This particular Sunday, it was closed, so I turned around to go around the Arboretum. Just after I exited, I saw this area of very heavy fog. I found a place to park, and went to grab some photos.
Wow! This is amazing! I ended up taking over 100 shots in about 20 minutes. The ducks on the water kept moving around, as did the mist and sun. This made for a constantly changing scene that I simply didn't want to miss. Finally, I got cold enough that I had to head back to the car.
As soon as I got home, I downloaded the photos, and went through the task of finding the best. I narrowed it down to 6, then picked this photo as my challenge entry. I just hope people are ok with the sun being my Fire element.

I knew there would be some people that couldn't find the fire in here. Of course, the sun is widely considered as a large gaseous ball of fire...
It will be interesting to see how this affects the score. |

Beautiful scene. I would have ruined it in processing but you've done a great job of representing it in all its natural glory. Wonderful rays. |

Nice capture and great for the challenge - maybe could have been a little darker to reduce the burnout of the sun. |

I like the halo and the snow. Only thing is that my eye doesn't seem to find a natural resting place. I don't know what to offer as an improvement, though. |
