This is a picture of the shadow of a tree cast upon my living room window shade. I've often taken pictures of various shadows and light cast through windows, sometimes reflecting off of various things outdoors, but most of the images don't come close to capturing what the eye sees. I think I've done some decent contrast and dynamic range adjustment this time to finally bring out a reasonably interesting and pleasing view.

Just to clarify, this view is shot from indoors looking at a back-lit subject, facing the (obscured) sun.

It seems that few are appreciating this, but from the forum posts, this challenge may simply be scoring on the low side for many.

This is so beautiful. And so happy that it received a richly deserved recognition. That teal blue is breathtaking.

A shade of blue! Light behind objects -- making shadows that fall on the window dressing -- fits a nontraditional vision of contre-jour in my opinion. Love the intricate texture balanced by the thin horizontal lines, and the contemplative mood.

This is lovely, and richly deserves an XPrize. I'll come back to comment more, when more conscious!

It doesn't seem a contre-jour

I am very intrigued by this photograph. I can't stop staring at it.
The reference of shadow makes me think this wasn't shot against the light, but since I really don't know what I am looking at, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt. 7
