The toes are the second most adorable thing there. The hair, of course, gets first place. She's totally beautiful. The doll... well.. not so much. *grin*

The eyes in the sky appear to be watching over her.

Love the quality you're getting with the Mark II.. definitely my next camera.

Congrats on your ribbon, Ben!

Way to go Ben! I love the tones in this image. Your daughter and the dolly look almost 3D against the background. Great texture and feel to this image.

Beautiful light and model! She must have added the word "done" to her vocabulary this week. This is one to print and hang.

She looks as if the doll just spooked her. Kudos on achieving such a moody image with minimal (detectable) post-processing. And congrats on the ribbon :)

B&W; beach; girl with curly hair; ...check, check, and check. So that's the formula! I need to move to the coast and have a daughter. ;-) I think CPS would get involved if I were to bring a small child to the coast of Michigan this time of year dressed like that! lol Great shot Ben

The girl and the beach?! Oh, Ben...

Okay, I do like this for reasons beyond its eye candy appeal. It has a certain, subtle ominousness (would you believe that's a word?) -- the thick clouds, the naked needy doll, the girl's somewhat unsettled expression. They're are all very suggestive. Of what, I don't know. That's where the picture ends and the viewer's imagination picks it up.

So there you are.

The moodiness of the scene, child's expression and posture, resonates with me.

awesome, compelling image. Someone could write a nursery rhyme to go with this. It would rhyme, but it might not be all pretty. The focus is perfect as is the b/w processing. Gorgeous child.

This is the first image I click on, and something in my gut tells me it's a bspurgeon... The lighting here is so heroic, and yet, it is such an intimate moment, magical. I feel that she is in a private cocoon, separate from the real world, and yet, projected upon a dreamy seascape, with softly swirling clouds. Fabulous image. Even it it turns out not to be Ben's.

Yup. My pick for the blue.

Oh my goodness. This is absolutely breathtaking. I love how the child is looking down and the doll is reaching up. That doll alone would creep me out, but in this setting, it is endearing and charming, to say the least! WOAH. If this doesn't win the blue, I'll be quite shocked. 10
