This piece of art, is located in the Denver Art District. This sculpture is in fact lying face down in what appeared to be a casket without a lid, the sculpture was embracing the earth as if it hadn't seen the earth in a very long time. I sat and observed this for quite a few minutes before deciding on how best to photograph it. This is a single image with some editing with the hope of enhancing the feeling I was receiving when viewing it.

I added a few photo filters in CS4, the background needed a little light color but decided the sculpture was suited to being black and white. I used an f stop of 1.4 which softened the background exactly the way I wanted. Probably could have gone to f2 though.

Cropped and sharpened.

If the artwork is not private owned nor copyrighted, you are Ok. I guess there are some related laws about the requirement of getting "artist release". National Geographic asked me to get an "artist release" from the windmill owner but later changed to "location release" from the (private owned) tulip farm's owner when I was willing to compete for the first place in this contest. If I was unable to get the release, I would be DQed from that contest before the voting phase started.

I've been through a lot of tests in my day ... I hope I don't have to do this one.

A very intense pic with the exposure setting the right mood. A ribbon winner in my book.

Oh my goodness. This hurts it's so good. How unique and unusual and wonderful. Very interesting technique and pov, and the glorious lavender and white and black tones. My pick for the blue.

This is not a shot or nice image – It’s pure art and should be shown in a gallery. Added to my favourites.
