 This is an image from 2009, taken in Croatia. I'm not sure the textures are very obvious, but then I suppose that's also a good thing sometimes :)

Very subtle texture overlay frames it in that it gives a vintage feel and look to the composition. Gives it an old feel to add to the old world charm of days where the streets are cobblestone and laundry was aired to dry. Interesting cultural study too - pictures can capture the culture of a place and this it does quite nicely.

I'm thinking that Street Scenes Without People should be a separate category. That's what makes this look "old" to me. No people. Technology that required a long exposure time, so that anything moving through the frame didn't get captured. The clothes on the line are not moving. It looks still, overcast, a white sky. Vignette shadows work best when they're created by an overlay--& to my eye that's the main hint of the overlay. In other words--well done!

I was thinking Italy. Oh I love it. The vignette edging just pulls us in. Makes me think of something old and treasured in a memory box or photo album.
