I thought this picture would do a lot better
04/22/2002 08:21:00 AM
Thanks to all the people who voted and commented. This was me juggling, as well as taking the photo. Took a bit of running back and forth to trigger the timer, juggle in an 'imaginary' frame and try to get the shot. I have several with all the pins in the shot, but I liked this more dynamic, cropped version. Seems a lot of people wanted to see the whole thing! I also screwed up and had the camera in ISO 200 mode, hence the noise and the background isn't the best, but I needed something to give me a clue where the camera was pointing!

A real beauty!
04/21/2002 07:49:00 PM
not that interesting. Only thing that saved this pic was the colors of the clubs
04/21/2002 04:58:00 PM
I would like to see all of the club. Nice color.
04/21/2002 02:03:00 AM
Not a bad shot. A bit blurry. The lines between the garage door panels are a little distracting.
04/20/2002 12:26:00 PM
wish you caught all of the pins
04/20/2002 08:58:00 AM
Great stop action, the background instantly pulls me away from subject, and not much story in the picture.
04/20/2002 08:52:00 AM
Interesting framing. Well done.
04/20/2002 06:26:00 AM
That is nice. The background is subtle and doesn't detract from the image as a whole. How about a frontal view and being able to see the jugglers expression of concentration.
04/20/2002 04:23:00 AM
Very, very nice. I like the way you ended everything off of the photo. Good clarity. Excellent composition.
04/19/2002 08:36:00 PM
still has a slight blurring ... and it is slightly over-exposed ... dont always trust the meter!
04/19/2002 07:34:00 AM
Great idea! A plain background (wall) would've been better than the door.
04/19/2002 07:32:00 AM
love the colors and stop motion. only the cropping/composition can be improved.
04/19/2002 06:52:00 AM
The better of the 'juggling' photos! Wish is wasn't cropped so tightly- good photo.
04/19/2002 06:23:00 AM
A great shot. I love this one, especially since I'm a juggler. I would have rated it higher if the red club were more in-frame.
04/18/2002 06:14:00 PM
Some blurring. More club, less hand would have made it really cool. Good choice of background -- nice color contrasts.
04/18/2002 04:34:00 PM
For whatever reason, having the clubs outside the edges of the picture don't bother me, but the pattern on the background being cut off does -- otherwise, it's a very nice, clean shot
04/18/2002 04:06:00 PM
Pretty good, but I really don't like the vertical framing on this.
04/18/2002 03:12:00 PM
nice
04/18/2002 12:21:00 PM
for some reason I wish I could see the entire red club, which would also make the background symmtrical!
04/18/2002 09:11:00 AM
Great colors and an interesting composition. The autofocus preferred the garage door to your clubs, though.
04/18/2002 07:26:00 AM
interesting subject. I would have liked to see more of the suspended object
04/18/2002 01:26:00 AM
I see a little bit of motion trail fuzziness particularly on the green one, the background could have been different, and the whole entire pins in the composition would have made this a better shot in my opinion
04/17/2002 11:25:00 PM
Nice colors. I like the choice just to show the arms of the juggler. And I'm sure the request to catch the entire red and yellow objects is a tough one, but I think it would have yielded even better results.
04/17/2002 09:02:00 PM
A lot of talent on both sides of the lens
04/17/2002 08:47:00 PM
Good topic choice, only a little blur.
04/17/2002 05:32:00 PM
I like the colors and motion captured here. I don't mind the tight cropping. I think it works. I think what caught my eye the most is the position of the right hand. It leads my eye into the rest of the picture, while the other diagonals keep my eye moving.
04/17/2002 04:51:00 PM
A slightly wider shot with more of the clubs would help
04/17/2002 12:47:00 PM
I like the bright colors, good lighting. But there is some motion blur, so it won't get a real high score (not a 1, though!).
04/17/2002 10:58:00 AM
i like this. the crispness, colors and framing. all well done.
04/17/2002 09:15:00 AM
this is really good. I love how the colours jump out of the pic, but I'm not sure about the panels in teh background ... especially the dark line between the first and second row of panels
04/16/2002 02:45:00 PM
this is a really cool shot, i like the monochrome with the color splashes. makes it really jump out at you.
04/16/2002 12:48:00 PM
Very good composition. Too bad the end of the red club is a little blurry.
04/15/2002 09:55:00 PM
Some blur on the red pin.
04/15/2002 06:52:00 PM
Very nice..
The clip tells the whole story.
04/15/2002 06:26:00 PM
Great concept! Would have liked to have seen a complete view of all three objects in the scene. The choice of background does not work well in my view. The texture of the background is distracting to me. The photo looks like it may have had a little too much post processing for my taste. All-in-all a fine effort however.
04/15/2002 05:58:00 PM
Great photo. I really like the way you captured the movement.
04/15/2002 05:55:00 PM
Your camera didnt stop the motion the way I would have liked. It is out blurry on one of the two of the pins.
04/15/2002 05:15:00 PM
Excellent shot. I love how the colors stand out against the white background. Is that you juggling?
04/15/2002 04:25:00 PM
good shot well caught - maybe garage doors detract
04/15/2002 04:11:00 PM
I just love it. Most people would not have considered such an appropriate background. I have to nitpick one thing. The small bit of black on the bottom yellow pin could have been cropped out. It's small, but a little distracting.
04/15/2002 02:51:00 PM
Great colors - using a light background works great to bring out the colors in the clubs.
04/15/2002 02:33:00 PM
i might have preferred a plainer background
04/15/2002 02:30:00 PM
I love it! I would love it even more if all the objects were inside the frame. Losing 2 of the three pins in the crop is sad here :(
04/15/2002 02:29:00 PM
Very nice arragement of objects. I'm guessing this took several tries to get right.
04/15/2002 01:11:00 PM
The clubs in motion have motion blurr.
04/15/2002 10:03:00 AM
Juggling is tricky... photographing it is even trickier, you get kudos for that :)
04/15/2002 09:49:00 AM
Just a tat of blur and the only other critque I have is ... you cropped out or missed part of your main subject:(
04/15/2002 08:58:00 AM
Vibrant colors and interesting subject. I like it.
04/15/2002 08:44:00 AM
this would be a lot better if the clubs had been fully on the screen.
