Man, this challenge came at the absolute worst time. I had 3 midterms, an essay, tons of reading, and overtime at work this week. BUT I did suggest this challenge, so I felt like I had to submit anyways.
I figured out that I had about a half an hour time frame to fit it in, and that is what happened.

I personally really like this image. It came out just like I had in mind (though a hurried edit), which is rare. I would love to see this make my top 5 because I think it would look very nice with .
However, who knows what DPC voters think.

Prediction: 5.7

I just have to document this, because I am sure it won't last.
I am so excited right now! I'll admit I didn't actually think this would score a 5.7 and was hoping for a 6, but I didn't think my image would score THIS high. Happy happy happy!

After Challenge:
Thank you so much for the votes and lovely comments! This was an awesome week! I must admit, I was dreaming of ribboning, but alas it was not to be.
I never thought I would ever be able to score this high in a challenge, so this is still an awesome feeling.
This is a Self Portrait. I drew with chalk on a Lacrosse Wall (where one bounces the lacrosse balls off of for practice).

The unfinished sword was the perfect touch to the photo - well done.

I haven't been around DPC in a long time, and I almost never comment on anything anymore, but I had to pop my head up to say that I LOVE THIS PICTURE. Wish I'd voted this challenge; you'd have had 15 10s.

This makes me think a little of the Newbery-winning book *The Hero and the Crown* by Robin McKinley. :) Have you read it?

So close to a 7!! But what way to get a pb! Personally, in my mind, an HM is a ribbon, because you get the little icon on the left hand side where the ribbons go. So you've got a ribbon, just not a front page one. :)

I thought this was spectacular -- and my pick of the challenge.

I love the added element of the sword being drawn - adds intrigue and tension. I alos love the confident look on the face of the artisti.

LOVE this concept and you executed it quite well, I think! Congrats on the top 5! I especially like your maiden's look of determination. (And how it really does look as though she's holding the hilt of the sword.) Leaving the sword to finish the drawing is just perfect!
