Challenge: Free Study 2010-10 (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location: Sydney Harbour
Date: Oct 23, 2010
Aperture: f/6.3
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/250 sec
Galleries: Black and White, Street
Date Uploaded: Oct 7, 2010

I had another shot entered that I took on the 1st Oct and thought nothing would replace it. Then I got this shot towards the end of the month and I've been torn about which one to enter. I love this shot and feel it's one of the best I've taken. That doesn't mean it will have a popular appeal. I guess I would be a little disappointed if this doesn't reach the 6's. It is a FS and not too sure how well street photography score's compared to sharp macro's, stunning landscapes and beautiful portraits.

Fill flash would have been nice, but maybe more intrusive than you're comfortable with.

haven't heard that word in awhile.... of course I haven't heard any good sax playing in awhile either. I like the way you isolated the performer from the background. Good one.

In this rare case I think the blown highlights actually help the busker stand out more which together with the background detail we have makes for a great image, good luck

to me this is where some fill light needs to be added for his (sax players) face...he is in a little to much shadow...
