Ok -- I couldn't think of what would be interesting for 7. I don't remember how I came up with the concept, but I thought it was worth trying. I talked my husband into letting me buy 7 different flavors of ice cream (we looked for sales, and one of the was a 2-in-one-box option.)

I really wanted a child eating the ice cream, so I started out with this shot:

But it seemed too snap-shotty, and didn't think it would go over well. My husband was sweet enough to run and get a white sheet to take a quick picture of just the cone. Unfortunately, it was 88 degrees outside, so the ice cream was melting all over the place and really looked pretty awful by that time.

We went back inside and scooped out the 7 scoops of ice cream, put them in plastic container, and then back into the freezer. A couple of hours later they were frozen pretty solid. One problem was, since they were frozen solid, they wouldn't stack well, so I had to use a shish-kabob skewer to hold them together. I can't believe that I didn't notice the skewer sticking out of the top of the cone!! It wasn't sticking out of the top when the cone was turned, but while we were taking the photos, my husband kept turning the cone to try different angles. This was the right angle, because you can see a bit of the bottom scoop, however, when you don't have much time to shoot, when the ice cream is in danger of either falling off or melting, you shoot quick and ignore details.

However, there's no reason for not noticing it in the processing. Well, tiredness, maybe?

Someone was wondering what flavors -- they were: cookies and cream, moose tracks, french silk, raspberry, mint chocolate chip, chocolate mint, and chocolate chip cookie dough.

My higher vote on this challenge, 9, the only nine... for me is a "underrated" case! ;-)

Clever clever - I did not notice the skewer. People were obviously looking for that. But you are smartie for getting it to work that way. I honestly expected this to be in the top 5 - the shot is so well done! Hope you enjoyed this treat - looks yummy!

Well done Wendy. I figured this was good for coming in high. Liked reading all you details of how you accomplished it. I didn't notice the skewer either.

I can see your skewer poking out the top. Personally, I would have 'shopped that out.

Great idea! A bit blur and noisy... I would also have hidden the stick at the top by some ice cream to hide the trick !! = )

Looks yummy. =) I usually like centered composition but it just doesn't work here IMO. A little off to the side would have looked better. I still like it though. 6

This is going to win, if only because it looks so dang yummy. Dying to know what all the flavors are. Very nicely composed and processed. How'd you keep it all from dripping? I'm thinking this is lying on it's side? Definitely got me thinking. And drooling...

In advanced editing, you could have cloned out the skewer... but this is wonderfully fun and well done! (not voting)

Mmmm, this looks good. I would eat this ice cream! I love the detail you have managed to capture in the various textures of the different types of ice cream. I would have loved to see the whole cone though. Take that with a grain of salt, because I also understand that that would have made the image incredibly tall and difficult to fit all of that in one picture.
