Im sure... this will eat dust... I guess a 4.5.

Thanks again Steve for the editing tips! Id die without your help!

complaints:

1.) my seconds are even: Cant help it that clocks old
2.) over done: its new for me, I made it my own.
3.) you can see the reflection of my camera, yeah I think it looked cool in the weird crop. Plastic reflects.... couldnt get it to go away.

I like it. thats whats important to me.

[Sep. 5th, 2010 01:15:39 PM]

This is doing way better then I expected!!!

The texture is a funny story so I thought I would share....

The clock was a gift i received 4 years ago when I started school for education. I was told I could hand it in my future classroom. It is a cheap plastic clock. It has been sitting in my utility room for 4 years. We replace the batteries as needed but it never gets cleaned.

When I thought of this I decided to use this clock... I was going to clean it but the camera reflection was already bad and I knew if it was bright and shiny it would be super bad, so I left it dusty and just cleaned the rim.

After I took the picture I upped the contrast on this and lowered the brightness and converted to sepia. It left with me this texture, color, pattern effect that I really really liked!! So I kept it!

After voting:

I was really hoping for my first ribbon but I am very stoked with 4th place! A new PB! wahooo!!!

Only just come across this photo - what a great entry for the challenge, creative, well taken, strong composition, and processing that adds to the image. Great work, and belated congratulations on the HM and PB.

I do think this is a nice shot but I almost gave it a 1. I really do not see how it meets the challenge of containing 7 of the main subject. I am really surprised to see this as a top 5 when it just doesn't seem to meet the challenge, good shot or not.

eta: I did actually give you a 10, I just thought this would have been hit with the dnmc voters. either way well done.

Not a member [yet...] so I can't vote. Instead I'm clicking through the images and commenting on those that make me stop and look. This is one of those images.

Clever idea for the theme. I like the way depiction of the slightly irregular distances between seconds. Probably not something one would notice without the long shutter technique.

Nice -- I once did a similar shot for a five-second challenge, but you have a nicer clock!

I love the picture, but I really wish the background was not so cluttered. It really draws your eye away from the wonderful tones and textures.

First off, I like this picture. Now...

Is that a reflection of your camera?
I'd like to see a little more on the left to see the whole number 12.
It is realy only six seconds (the space between the ticks).
Almost a little to much stuff in the background.

After all that, let me repeat; I like this picture.

Very clever and well done. Wonderful processing. I love the contrast of the grunge on the face and the clean metal of the edge. Beautiful. Front page.
